- What is you weight gain goal?
- Do you want to pack on 10, 30 or 50 pounds of rock hard muscle?
- What is your fat loss goal?
- How do you know if you have optimized your diet for building muscle and losing fat at the same time?
- Do you know the 5 things people do which actually stops them from gaining the body they want?
There are different types of programs, those that get you in shape, and those that emphasize muscle growth. When you go go beyond 10 reps you are emphasizing your slow-twitch muscle fibers which have the not so much inclination for muscle growth. This would be the design of a get in shape program, not a muscle building program.
The weight in a muscle building program should engage the maximal amount of muscle fibers in every set.
Muscle growth requires that you get your mind into heavy lifting mode. With that in mind then you are going to use such weights that you cannot go over 10 repetitions. Using this amount of weight will truely force you to focus on the program. Most hard gainers will feel completely out of sorts at first. But, with continued persistence, they can immediately see the value of the program.
